  • Who can apply as in the status of international student?

    Provided that applicants are in the last year of high school or graduated from a school equivalent to Turkish high schools,

     

    1) Foreign students,

     

    2) Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, No: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.” candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law.

     

    3) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and have gained the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,

     

    4) Those who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey and have completed their high school education in another country, including those who have completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country (Those who have completed their high school education in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are exempt from this rule.)

     

    5) Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010,

    may apply to undergraduate programs at University of Gaziantep.

  • Who can not apply as in the status of international student?

    b) Applicants

     

    1) who hold the a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey, and have completed their secondary education in Turkey or in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,

     

    2) who hold the a citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

     

    3) who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (a) item.2 above. (except for those who have completed their high school education in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/ those who have completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus),

     

    4) who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system in TRNC, and those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010),

     

    5) those who hold a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey or a dual citizenship, one of which is the a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article a item.2 above, and who have completed their secondary education at institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Turkey,

    cannot apply.

  • What are the exam results accepted in application? What are the score standards?

    • SAT I:  A total score of minimum 1100 and Math score of minimum 600

     

    • Tawjihi: In the Tawjihi exams applied in Jordan and Palestine, an average exam score of minimum 90 taken in all subjects from Scientific Stream.

     

    • GCE: At least three A levels on at least three subjects (one is related to the program applied to)

     

    • ACT: Math, Science and Composite scores minimum 24

     

    • Baccalauréat Libanais: (for Lebanese students) a minimum diploma grade of 15 from Scientific Stream.

     

    • International Baccalaureate: A total diploma grade of minimum 30

     

    • International Science Olympiads: A gold, silver or bronze medal from one of these Olympiads that are recognized by Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBİTAK)

     

    • Baccalaureate Examination: (For students from Syria)-(out of total score 240) Faculty of Medicine- Scientific Stream 200, Faculty of Eng.-Scientific Stream 190, Faculty of Arts and Science (Math-Biology)- Scientific Stream 170,Higher Education of Health(Nursing)-Scientific Stream 160,Faculty of Economic and Ad. Science-Literary Stream 170, Faculty of Education and Arts and Science-Literary Stream 160, Faculty of Arts and Science (English Lang. And Lit.)-Literary Stream 25.

     

    • Iraq Baccalaureate Examination; (Scientific Stream out of 100) Faculty of Medicine min 75, Faculty of Engineering min. 70, Faculty of Arts and Science (Mathematic and Biology) and Faculty of Health Sciences min. 70.

    (Literary Stream out of 100) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Science (History and Turkish Language and Literature Program), Faculty of Education 70, Faculty of Arts and Science (English Language and Literature) literary stream 70.

     

    • Abitur Exam score, minimum 4

     

    • Al Shahad Al-Thanawiya Examination: Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry Scientific Stream 195, Faculty of Engineering Scientific Stream 185, other faculties/vocational schools Scientific stream 175.

     

    • In the Gao Kao examination of the People's Republic of China: a Minimum score of 500/750 in the applied program. Or minimum %85 score in 12-year-high school diploma (Senior Secondary School Certificate)

     

    It is enough to submit any of these examination results during the application.

    SAT results are valid for two years.

  • Can I make an application with “YÖS” result (Foreign Students Examination) which is held by another university?

    Foreign Students Exam (YÖS) applied by universities won’t be accepted as application criteria.

  • I don’t have the exam results accepted as criteria of international student acceptance by University of Gaziantep

    Can I also apply with my high school transcript and graduation score?

    High School scores and transcripts will be taken into account for the applicants who don’t have the mentioned exam results. Furthermore, applicants who have one of these mentioned exams, have priority when being chosen.

  • Is there validity limit for high school diploma?

    There is no validity limit for the documents like High School diploma

  • Do I certainly have to take an exam or send my high school graduation scores?

    Yes. The applications of students who do not ensure the terms of application won’t be accepted. It’s obligatory to get the minimum scores from the exams mentioned above.

  • Does University of Gaziantep hold the examination of YÖS (Foreign Student Examination)?

    University of Gaziantep does not hold the examination of YÖS.

  • In the selection of departments, there writes E.P near of some departments? Could you please explain this?

    E.P. means Evening Program. These programs curriculum is not different from morning programs. Student attends to classes after 17.00 p.m.

  • I want to make an application. Where should I send my documents to?

  • My documents are Arabic/Russian/Chinese/...  Do I have to have them translated into Turkish or English?

    All documents have to be in Turkish or English, or else, the documents have to be translated into one of these languages in translating offices and one copy of this translation has to be attached.  If the student is accepted, the originals of all the documents given in application previously will be requested during registration.

  • Is it enough to make only the online application?

    No. Just online application is not enough. Applicant will prepare a file with the documents in the link of http://ibs.gantep.edu.tr/duyuru/files/articles/2014-2015-international-students-application6249.doc.

    If the applicant wants to apply more than one department, they have to apply each Faculty/High School separately with all documents.

  • What are the necessary documents for application?

    The applicants have to present the specified documents completely. The delays will not be considered in the applications sent by post. The applications with missing documents will not be evaluated. All documents have to be in Turkish or English, or else, the documents have to be translated into one of these languages in translating offices and one copy of this translation has to be attached.  If the student is accepted, the originals of all the documents given in application previously will be requested during registration.

     

    1. Application form: (Click for the form)

    Once you fill the form, please take the printout and sign.

    This form has to be filled on internet. After you printout and sign the form you filled on application page, you have to send it with your application documents.

    The applications will be invalid if the form is not filled on the internet online or sent only as printout without making an access to system.

    The application form has to be delivered with other documents in a closed envelope.

    Note: Students from Syria and Saudi Arabia have to apply with both baccalaureate certificate and equivalence certificate

     

    2. High School Diploma:

    The copy of original high school diploma and its translation (English or Turkish) has to be notarized. It’s necessary that the students who hasn’t taken their diplomas yet have to present an official document (temporary graduation certificate) taken from their high school and stressing that they will be graduated in a certain date. The original of the temporary graduation certificate has to be presented. The “Equivalence Certificate”, taken from  Republic of Turkey National Education Ministry or from Turkish Embassy in their countries, which shows their high school diplomas are equal to diplomas taken from Turkish High Schools is not requested during the application. The accepted students will have to present this document during registration.

     

    3. Official Transcript:

    Applicants have to present their official transcripts’ approved copies which show courses and grades they took from their high school and approved by High School Management. If the transcript is not in English or Turkish, the translated copies into these languages have to be presented with transcript.

     

    4. Applicable Exam Result:

    The copies of  SAT, GCE, Tawcihi, Baccalaureate etc that will be used for application have to be presented.

     

    5. Copy of Passport:

    Students who have passport can send a copy of the page with the picture. It does not have to be approved.

     

    6.  Two(2) photographs:

    Photographs ought to be taken in the last 6 months with frontal view, easy to recognize the students, head and neck open, beardless and in size of 4.5*6. Copies are not acceptable. Photographs must suit these conditions, otherwise they cannot be accepted.

     

     

    7. Application Fee Receipt:

    A receipt showing the application fee has been put into the account of our university. Application fee is not refundable.

    Application fee can be paid in two ways.


    a- The ones who have a temporary Turkish Identity number or a tax number may pay in HALKBANK as 50USD

    b- The ones who neither have a temporary Turkish Identity number nor a tax number must pay their application fee which is 100 TL to the cashier’s window of Gaziantep University Health, Culture and Sports Head of Department and present the bill at the time of application (with the Passport No)

    Applications will be made to related Faculty Deaneries or Higher Education Directorship, not to Registrar’s Office.

    If the applicants want to apply more than one department, they have to apply each Faculty/High School separately with all documents. Applicants can make max 3 selections. In this case, it will be enough for applicants to pay only one application fee.

     

    Medium of instruction:

    • The medium of instruction is English in Engineering, Architecture, English Medicine Program and English Language and Literature Program.

    • It is in Turkish in other faculties and higher schools.

    • Students who submit Turkish Proficiency exam score (C1) will directly start their undergraduate program. Students, who do not submit a valid Turkish Certificate will take TOMER Turkish Language Exam. In case of failure, student will study Turkish Language for 1 year in TOMER or Yunus Emre Turkish Education Centre. ( Exc. Engineering, Architecture Faculties, English Medicine Program and English Literature Program.)

    • Students who do not submit an English Proficiency Exam result during registration will have to take University of Gaziantep English Preparatory Exam. In case of failure, student will have to attend University of Gaziantep English Preparatory Class.

    • Students who submit a valid English Proficiency Exam result will directly start their undergraduate courses.

  • What kind of a visa do I have to get?

    After results are announced, an acceptance letter will be sent to applicants’ e-mail by Registrar’s Office. The applicants have to get an “Education Visa” from the Embassy in their countries (or the closest) with this acceptance letter. This visa is absolutely necessary to enter Turkey and register to university.

  • Do I have to pay any tuition fee if I’m accepted?

    All accepted students have to pay the tuition fee. For this reason, please check the tuition fees stated in the table below carefully before you make registry.

    International Students’ tuition fees are determined by Council of Ministers and University Senate.

    Tuition fees of 2014-2015 academic year has not been determined yet, it is going to be determined by Council of Ministers’ Decision and by University Senate.

  • When do I have to pay the tuition fee?

    At the beginning of each academical semester.

  • How is the insurance operations of International students ?

    According to the Social Insurance Law no: 5510, the applicants who have the right for the final registration –the foreign students having education in our country- have the general health insurance from the first day of registration in 3 months on the condition that they demand it. Student, who demands General Health Insurance, have to apply Social Security Institution. Those who don’t apply in the specified time cannot make use of the opportunities ensured by general health insurance throughout their education.

    They are paid an insurance fee calculated as one third of the daily income lower limit multiply 30 days and this amount is determined by the 82nd clause of the same law.

    With reference to this, the foreign students who are studying/will be studying at our university and the ones who demanded to get a General Health Insurance are going to pay a fee of approximately 57.00 TL in 2014. Fee amount may be raised by SGK (Social Security Institute)

     

    The legal responsibilities about the payment of Insurance fee will be the concern of the foreign students who demanded to have a General Health Insurance. Our students should make the payment to the following banks: T.C. Ziraat Bankası, Türkiye Halk Bankası and Vakıfbank.

  • I’m in the foreign student status. Can I make a transfer from associate to bachelor’s degree or transfer to other departments?

    According to University of Gaziantep Regulations’, transferring from another university is impossible for foreign students. So foreign student does not transfer from the other Universities.

  • Does University of Gaziantep give any scholarship?

    University of Gaziantep does not give scholarship.

  • Does University of Gaziantep provide accommodation in dormitory to all students?

    Each student provide dormitory/flat by himself.

  • Where can I accommodate?

    There are dormitories and flats in the city. Flat rents are approximately ( 1+1 ) 550 TL per month.

  • How can I make residential operations?

    Within one month after you enter Turkey you must apply for your Residence Permit at the Foreign Office, Gaziantep Security Office. Student can pick up your residence permit along with his/her passport after a week as his/her passport is kept along with the application documents. Student has to pick up your own permit.

    Requırements for International Student Resıdence Permıt

    1. Student certificate

    2. “Declaration for Residence Permit” form (can be copied from ICO) - you MUST sign both FRONT and BACK pages

    3. "Requirements for Foreigners" document signed by the student

    4. "Receipt of Application" document filled in by the student

    5. 4 photographs (Do not forget to write your name at the back for each and paste/glue one of them on the last blank of the "Declaration for Residence Permit" indicating photo)

    6. Passport

    7. Copy of passport.

    8. 206 TL for the booklet (January 2014)

    9. One dossier/folder (2 TL each and should be purchased at the kiosk at the Bureau for Foreigners, Security Office)
